Soul Thing
When Taylor Hicks released his first album, I decided it was high time to give the fanlisting a new look, something that spoke of the way I felt about Taylor’s music: that he’s timeless, he’s a classic. In tribute to his long journey from an aspiring singer and songwriter to become the American Idol, I decided to create an interplay between Taylor then, and Taylor now.
What was interesting in this layout was that after I created a mockup, I realized that I was going to have a problem with the horizontal page background, as they were different on either side of the header image. I solved this with a bit of help from floating DIVs — you can see the technique I used in my Uneven Header and Background Tutorial.
